Chapter 6 - Marking 34 years with CHC

28 Apr 2026

Adrian Todd – General Foreman

Adrian is one of our longest serving foremen, read his story below.

For me, it all began with a simple phone call from Mike West, a Contracts Manager at CHC. He told me they were looking for a General Foreman and invited me in for an interview. That was 34 years ago, and I’m still here today.

Starting out as a General Foreman, I’ve had a front‑row seat to the way our industry has evolved. The biggest change over the years has been the increase in paperwork and a much more structured approach to health and safety. While it can sometimes feel demanding, it’s undoubtedly a positive change, after all, looking after people on site properly has never been more important.

Over the past 30 years, I’ve been fortunate to work on many memorable projects. Every project matters, but what really determines success is the site team. When you have a strong, committed team working together, the job usually runs like a well-oiled machine. Good teamwork has always been at the heart of the best projects I’ve been involved in.

One of the reasons I’ve stayed at CHC for so long is the people. I’ve been lucky enough to work alongside some genuinely great individuals over the years. CHC may be a smaller company, but that’s one of its biggest strengths, here you’re treated as a person, not just a number. That personal touch really does make all the difference.

For anyone thinking about joining us, my advice is: work hard, ask questions and never be afraid to speak up if you’re unsure about something. There’s no such thing as a silly question. That’s how you learn, grow and move forward in your career, just as I have over the last 34 years.
