From apprentice to engineer: Celebrating Sam’s success
CHC is delighted to congratulate Sam Ellithorn on successfully completing his Higher Level Apprenticeship Degree in Civil Engineering at Salford University and achieving a First class honours degree. Sam has been with us since 2020 and holds the distinction of being our very first engineering apprentice.
After finishing Woodhey High School, Sam completed a BTEC Level 3 in Engineering at Bury College, followed by a period of work experience with CHC. He then began his Higher Level Apprenticeship at the University of Salford, studying on a day-release basis while gaining hands-on experience at a number of our sites, including HS2, BAE, and Saica.
Over the years, Sam has shown real commitment and a strong work ethic. He’s known for being thorough, reliable, and always ready to go the extra mile. His positive attitude and dedication have earned him the respect of colleagues across the business.
In 2023, Sam’s hard work was recognised when he was named Engineering Apprentice of the Year by the University of Salford—a well-deserved achievement.
We’re incredibly proud of everything Sam has accomplished and look forward to seeing what the future holds for him. Congratulations, Sam, from everyone at CHC.
