CHC invests in the UK's first XR50 hydraulic excavator attachment
Cheetham Hill Construction is now operating the UK"s first XR50 Xcentric Ripper attachment, which has been fitted to one of our new 55 tonne CAT 349E excavators.
The XR50 Xcentric Ripper has been employed at Lafarge Whitwell Limestone quarry, extracting high grade limestone used in the manufacture of cement on site.
The XR50 weighs in at 5.5 tonnes and is currently the largest Xcentric Ripper at work in the UK. Made completely of wear-resistant steel, this attachment incorporates a unique patented "impact energy accumulation technology" design that provides an almost maintenance, noise and dust free excavation tool.
The XR50 is specially designed for high-volume production in quarries and infrastructure works. Typical applications where this attachment will exceed expectation include; demolition - concrete breaking and structure dismantling, especially where vibration and noise are critical and quarries - a real viable alternative to drilling and blasting in the quarry sector, where the XR50 is typically capable of ripping in excess of 150m3 an hour in fractured limestone rock.
This is another investment that aims to ensure CHC continues to offer its clients cost effective solutions utilising the most technologically advanced and innovative plant and equipment available.
