CHC Employee's Freefall for Father's Day

18 Apr 2018

Two brave employees from our Prince of Wales site are taking part in a sponsored tandem sky dive.On Father’s Day, Sunday 17th June, Lee Gent and Ben Jones, along with Lee’s partner Brooke Osbourne, will jump from 15,000 feet out of a perfectly good airplane.

The jump is being completed in memory of Lee’s father Derek with all money raised going to the Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract. The Prince of Wales Hospice provided support and care for Lee’s Father during the final week of his life. The Hospice has been providing care to people with a life-limiting illness since 1989.

The care is provided free of charge and entirely based on need, but only about a 25% of the cost is covered by the NHS. This means they have to raise over £3m a year through their shops, fundraising events, donations and fundraising initiatives in the local community. Of every £1 the Hospice raise, 87p is spent directly on patient care and 13p is invested in raising more funds.

The team are hoping to raise £1200. Lee commented “The Prince of Wales Hospice  were absolutely fantastic and I would do anything to help them as they did me”. You can sponsor Lee, Brooke and Ben via the following link:
