Time capsule burial undertaken at Old Swan site
Cheetham Hill Construction recently assisted client Merseyside Recycling Waste Authority with the burial of a time capsule at the Old Swan Household Waste Recycling Centre site in Liverpool.
The time capsule was put together with the help of the Broadgreen District of Liverpool North East Division 22nd Brownie pack. Items donated by the brownie pack, MRWA and CHC such as plans and photos of the site, other memorabilia specific to the present day and predictions for the future have all been sealed in the capsule and buried on site.
The time capsule is being registered with the International Time Capsule Society in London and it's anticipated that the contents will be exhumed in 25 years' time in 2040.
The new HWRC will handle up to 15,000 tonnes of recyclable material each year and will accept all sorts of household items from paper, cardboard and bottles, to larger items such as white goods, televisions and furniture, plus lots more beside.
The site is in the final stages of construction and it's anticipated it will be open to the public before the end of the year.
