CHC employee wins CECA NW Young Professional of the Year Award

16 Oct 2014

Cheetham Hill Construction employee, Jack Edwards, has received the Civil Engineering Contractors Association North West Young Professional of the Year Award 2014.

Jack was presented with his award at a recent awards dinner held by CECA NW at the Hilton hotel in Manchester.

After joining CHC in 2013, Jack was fast tracked from Trainee Site Agent to the position of Site Agent on the final stages of a £1.8million pipeline project for client United Utilities. During this transitional period he gained and developed valuable time management, communication, organisational and leadership skills and has become a valued member of the Company.

Earlier this year, Jack completed his Construction Project Management degree at the University of Salford and received a 2:1 BSc (Hons). He is currently undertaking a NVQ for which he will gain a Gold Management CSCS Card, a highly recognised qualification within the industry.

Phil Ross, CHC Director, said "The willingness and commitment shown by Jack during this period has led to CHC gaining a valued resource. We are very proud of his achievement and hope he will continue to grow in his role with the Company. We hope his success will attract other young entrants into the industry."

Guy Lawson, CECA NW Director, said "Jack Edwards was a worthy winner of the CECA NW Young Professional of the Year Award, having demonstrated excellent career progression at Cheetham Hill Construction Ltd. The judges were impressed by his development, leading to working as Site Agent on a £1.8 million project for United Utilities."
